Cherry Blossom Frame

The best place to find frames to decorate is Good Will.  You are essentially recycling the frame, giving to a good cause, and getting a frame much cheaper than if you were to buy it new (who can beat that?).  I found this frame for $1 and decorated with a cherry blossom design.  Completed with a fun picture of my niece enjoying a piece of watermelon!  The circles may seem difficult, but just keep nipping the edges of any sized piece and voila!

Glass Jewelry Holder

I found this wooden holder at Michael's and decided it would be a fun piece to mosaic.

Glass Flowers

I love the look of these glass flowers.  They are made using oiled glass cutters.  The pieces are copper taped and soldered together.  They end up being pretty fragile (I've had to re-sodder a couple petals) and I'm working on making them a little tougher!

Mosaic for Elise

This piece was made for my niece, Elise, born in 2011.

Glass Boxes

All boxes require copper taping of glass and soldering tools.  I found it particularly handy to have a professional glass box maker, which essentially holds the pieces at a 90 degree angle and allows for better looking corners. These make nice gifts... the orange box was gifted with 3 tealights and the green box is used in my father's office for odds and ends, such as paperclips.

Tree mosaic for Reece

I made this piece for my friend when she was pregnant with her baby, Reece.  The base of this is mdf board.  I like to sketch out my idea first... this helps with picturing the overall design and also making sure you have enough of a certain color of glass. This piece was done with mosaic glass cutters (wheeled cutters) for random pieces and fluid glass cutters + guided cutters for the patterned pieces (such as the leaves).  The whole piece was grouted and completed with a stained wood frame.
